Hi, I’m Mark. My wife Teri and I like water sports, camping, hiking, biking, frolicking, and hanging out with our kids. We have two daughters, Ciera and Brooke who are really fun and cute. We also have a dog named Bailey who’s about the size of a gopher on steroids. My favorite things about student ministry are camps, mission trips, and seeing students fall in love with Jesus. I don’t like sushi (sorry), but I have licked a banana slug and eaten alligator, bison, kangaroo, and rattlesnake. YUM. One of my favorite verses in the Bible is, Colossians 2:6, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him.”

I'm Jeffrery, Nolan and Peter's Dad.  I teach 6th grade in Auburn. Why am I bald?  Hey, when your hair starts becoming scarce the "comb-over" is a scary option!  Why do I have an earring?  Look harder.  It's a silver cross.  I got it a year ago August as a celebration of being a Christian for 25 years (get it? Silver=25 years).  I became a Christian as a sophomore in high school.  Anyway, in Deuteronomy a pierced ear was a sign of willing servanthood for life.  That's my main identity, a bondservant of Christ...even above being a Dad and teacher.  I enjoy playing Internet chess, backpacking, turkey hunting, motorcycle riding, eating chocolate, and posting information about myself on church websites.

Melinda Dudley

Hi, my name is Melinda Dudley, I'm Tim's mom, and married to Steve who plays bass guitar on the worship team. I love animals and work as a veterinary technician. In my spare time I enjoying cooking (my family loves my tacos), caring for my pets, hanging out with my family, and listening to worship music. What I enjoy most about the students ministries is the energy, having fun with the girls, and to be able to make a difference in their lives by letting them know that we care about them. My favorite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all you heart, and lean not on your understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Jesus is there for us 24/7 and is waiting to hear from us.

I also love curling up with a good book, hitting the rollercoasters, going to the mall, CONCERTS, getting mani's & pedi's and I watch way too much "reality" tv. I've been involved with student ministries for 5 years now and continue to love every minute of it! My all time favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I’ve been working with students now for 6 years and enjoy watching them grow with Christ and helping them learn and grow in small groups. I love shooting, 4WD’ing, and going to Christian concerts with my boys and others. My favorite verse is “For God will give you all you need from day to day if you focus on Him and His Kingdom. I want to share because “how can they know if we don’t tell them?”.

Doug Herfurth

Hi, I am Doug.  I have 2 kids in high school that keep me in-line, Dusty and Paige.

My joy comes from helping people to overcome their pain and addictions through God's healing power. I get to witness lives being transformed through the miracle of God's love in Celebrate Recovery meetings.

My favorite Bible verse is

Ephesians 2:10  For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

My relationship with our living God has given my life meaning.

Gaylen Herfurth

Hey! My name is Gaylen, I also respond to Momma Gaylen, Mom and Mommy. I have two high schoolers; Paige and Dustin, they are the joy of my life.

I enjoy life on life's terms; I enjoy writing, the beauty of the outdoors, photography, being creative and worshiping the Lord.

God has not only brought me through some fires in my life, but, He allowed the fires to shape me and build my character. I believe his goal was to bring me to this place, where I can pass on to others my experience, strength and hope. Student Ministries is where my heart is and where God has lead me to serve. There is no greater joy than seeing changed lives and transformed hearts.

Gaylen @ 16

I lead students through a 13-week program called Life Hurts…Gods Heals;  at times it's both heart-wrenching and heart-warming to watch transformations occur in students. It's amazing what happens when we simply listen to students, share our story, provide students with life tools, and work with them as they go through their own self-discovery of who they are in Christ. It reminds me daily of why we are all here - To Love God and to Love People.

Now I know that it's true, My every road leads to you,
And in the hour of darkness, Your light gets me through,
You run like the river, You shine like the sun,
Yeah, you fly like an eagle, Yeah, you are the "one",
I've seen every sunset, And with all that I've learned,
It's to you God I will always, Always return.”
- by Gaylen Herfurth

Jill Vannce

Hey, I'm Jill. I love lots of things! I think I'd like to consider myself a Jack (or a Jill in my case) of many trades because there are just so many things in life to do (including procrastinating, which I just so happen to have mastered). I love to be active, whether it's an extreme sport like snowboarding or flying trapeze or something as simple as a nice Sunday afternoon walk. I also enjoy people and lean toward being an extrovert who will “chat it up” in Starbucks. I've been involved with the high school ministry since the summer of 2005. I love working with the high schoolers because they keep me young. They are such passionate people with amazing potential. They will really connect with you and can be deep if you give them your time. I love to see a high schooler praising God with his/her talents; they humble me and I feel that I grow more from them than they do from me. I am super-excited to be going on my first Mexico mission trip with the group this spring! My favorite scripture is found in Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.” To me this verse is what faith is all about; a perfect picture of a loving heavenly father and his trusting children.
